Cleaning House and Hearts

Greetings to our striving sister saints:+)

I hope you are holding fast to the word of God and hope that lies before us if we endure through this life.  I did a lot of cleaning yesterday and thought I would share it with you and then share a little bit about what I was thinking while I was doing it.

Washing windows is a satisfying job.

A clean, recycled jar...

... And a tin can ready to be put to good use.

Cooler bags washed and ready to be used again.

Clothes washed then hung to dry.

And a clean door.

A cleaned and organized spice cabinet.

Clean dishes ready for their daily use.

A dirty water pan...

Washed and like new.

Brother James had a big wood pile to work on..

And did a good job cleaning it up.

After our laborers we took a break and enjoyed iced coffee I made. (It was an unusually warm Dec day:-)

And all the while this was going on I couldn't stop thinking about how God's word constantly tells us to clean the sin from our lives. We see how the Israelites had to clean their homes from all leaven at times, and today we clean sin out of our life, if we truly are followers of our Savior.  Sadly most people we talk to don't take that seriously and remain in their sins which will be to their destruction if they don't repent.

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. [20] But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. [21] If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

2 Timothy 2:19-21

Amen I love that!  Now if only a lot of these women that I meet, that claim to be my sister, if they would scrub their lives of sin just as hard as they work at cleaning their households, what a joy and honor that would be to God!

But yet cleaning all the sin out of your life is nothing until you are cleansed from God through faith which leads to repentance of all that sin. God then washes us clean and creates us as a new vessel ready to be used for Him by the indwelling of his Holy Spirit. Then we continue being sanctified in our lives for Him which includes purging and cleaning and washing of all the sin out of our lives in an honor and Glory unto Him. See the biblical gospel HERE and test yourself.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. [22] Abstain from all appearance of evil. [23] And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:21-23

Just a simple reminder to us all to examine ourselves...

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

2 Corinthians 13:5

And be unspotted...

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

James 1:27

Amen!

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; [26] That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Ephesians 5:25-27
