Standing Strong In Christ, Not Psychology

Greetings sisters in Christ!
Praise God for each day we can encourage one another and not fall back.  I find that the more I give of myself, the stronger I am and I encourage you all to do that also.

In these last days we see more and more false teachings with much of it being psychology based.  (Brother Jim and I recently discerned yet another so called Christian psychology based 'self help' course you see it exposed HERE.)  What most of these places do is get you to delve into yourself, digging backwards into your past and then try to work out something psychologically so that your mind finds a way to be okay with it, for one instance or in the case of IFS, they teach you have multiple parts and none are bad. (There are many more variations of their sinful teachings.)   That's sinful in the eyes of God because when you are a new creation...

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

ALL THINGS BECOME NEW

That means whatever happened in your past is now gone as you are a new creation.  If you hold on to anything in your past and allow it to affect you, you are in sin because that negates the power of God in our lives.  I write about this for you sisters because we see it all over the place, women allowing their feelings and emotions to rule them and make them who they are.  Yes, women can have softer emotions than men (they are usually the opposite direction) but that doesn't mean they are necessarily good.

What does Jesus say about looking backward in Luke 9:62?
That you should dig into your past and dwell there, playing around in it trying to figure out why you act the way you do or how someone treated you in the past affects you today?

NO!  He said that if we look back we are not fit for the kingdom of God.  We also blaspheme our Father if we do because we are negating the power of a transformed life.  I would encourage anyone who is allowing their past (before Christ)  to control, hinder, affect  their life, that they examine themselves to see if they truly are born again by the Holy Spirit.

If we are born of God, our past has nothing to do with who we are today because why?

We are a new creation!!!!

How can a NEW creation have old junk left in them....unless of course a person is 'holding on' to it, not letting it go.  "But God, I can't move forward because of all the things people did to me, or who I was or how bad I sinned etc...."  God would respond that you are not fit for the kingdom of God and therefore if we are not fit, we will not enter.

If any of you are involved in such things, I implore you to repent immediately and trust in the Lord that He has washed you clean. If you still feel dirty from your past it is because you are holding on to it.  Dump it like a hot rock and allow the Lord to cleanse you and make you new.  Do it quickly as you don't know if you will have tomorrow.

I wrote a post about being perfect / mature (you can read it HERE and one on being a victim or victorious, you can read that HERE. ) Women are forever filling the pocket books of false teachers and psychologists because they love to sit in their fleshly feelings and ponder them, use them as excuses for their failures in life etc.  I've 'been around the block' in my 52 years and there is not much that I haven't done, or been through.  My life was very dark at times and I wouldn't want anyone to experience some of it but when I was washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, I was thankful to have Him obliterate it all and strive on as a new creation.

If we wallow in our past, our failures, our weaknesses, we dishonor the power of God and grieve the Holy Spirit.  We are to be strong in Christ and if we aren't, it's our own fault, not the fault of what happened in our past.  That's of satan.

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1 John 4:4

If you don't believe and trust in that, then you are in great danger.

I don't write this to condemn people who have been dabbling in this area, I write this to encourage (and rebuke if you need it) you to get off it and get moving on in Christ before it's too late.

I love you all, even though I can't see you and I want you STRONG in the Lord, not weak and powerless under satan.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20

March on sisters!
