A Slow Fade
Good afternoon striving sister saints!
I shared in my last post that we had been out preaching at a farmers market and then in an anabaptist community. I then talked about how we see the older generation lacking wisdom as the days grow more evil and I share those links here again because they tie into what I'm about to talk say today.
A slow fade.
Hebrews 2:1
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things
which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
I'm going to say this right off so that anyone who doesn't want to keep reading can stop....Yes, I'm going after the clothing issue and use it as my example. For those of you who don't understand why I said that, there are people who diminish the importance of being biblically dressed, claiming that God looks upon the inside, not the outside. (I have an article called The Clothing Hill Many Die On, you might want to read it.) Those people also claim to set their own standards in what is 'modest'. (Go read an article about Modest vs Biblical, they aren't the same.) A godly woman who has been transformed by the Holy Spirit, WILL want to dress biblically when shown in scripture and it is a VERY IMPORTANT command in scripture as our body (as true biblical believers) is the temple of the Holy Spirit. This post isn't to teach anyone about all that as we have tons of articles to help you learn, this is about how dangerous a slow fade is. How one little compromise, a slow fade, can make for a big slide into sin. My example is how one inch can make for not only a naked society but naked professed believers.
Do your own research and see that at one point it was scandalous for a woman's dress to be short enough to show off her naked ankle. Today in many cities it's okay to walk around topless or strut down main street naked in a parade. How did it get that way? One inch at a time. But of course we expect that with the world that doesn't have Christ as their Savior, but what about those who claim His name?
Philippians 2:12-15
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Back in the New Testament body women were fully headcovered and biblically dressed. Over time the clothing slowly changed and during the reformation, even though it was slowly becoming unbiblical, the women were still in dresses and headcoverings (of some sort.) Then the dresses got shorter and inch here and there, then an inch or two tighter, then the headcovering got smaller an inch at a time until it turned into a fancy hat which ended up being totally removed. Today, pick any denomination (other than anabaptist as I'll get to them in a moment) and see that 99% of the women dress like harlots with their clothes disappearing into virtually nothing, especially in their every day life. I'm sure many of you won't argue that point.
Proverbs 30:20
Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.
Now lets look at the anabaptists. We know the anabaptists well as we've had much interaction with them for many years, dealing with them all over the country. Most of society would look at the anabaptists (Amish, mennonite, german baptist etc) and think that they are biblically dressed and obedient, but most are not and their clothing too, is on the slow fade to nakedness just like the world. It's gotten so bad that there are some anabaptists that we cannot distinguish from the world!
Ephesians 5:6-15
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) [10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
As you can see in the link above, in the highlighted word 'anabaptist' we have many videos of our witnessing time in their vacation community in Florida. If you were to look closely (I'm not recommending you do that I'm telling you about it) you would see the women (both young and old) wearing skin tight dresses and skirts, some half way up the calf, some barely knee length, tight shirts with lowering necklines and get ready for this...
As we were heading to their church Sunday morning to stand outside and see if any men wanted to talk to brother Jim, we saw a whole group of young anabaptist women (teenage) in tiny denim shorts and skimpy tops, heading to the beach. While we were in the midst of them at their park, there were some in clothes so small their stomachs were exposed and dresses so short that if they bent over you would see their privates!
IT"S ALREADY HERE! VIRTUALLY NAKED ANABAPTISTS!!!
And before you say
'OH, but they must not be of the conservative groups"
THEY WERE ALLOWED TO INTERMINGLE WITH THEM ALL!!!
Old Amish and Mennonite men stood there in the midst of those virtually naked young anabaptist women and said NOTHING!!! In fact, all the young (unbiblically dressed) women were playing volley ball (bouncing, jumping, running) with the young men (who too are wearing less clothing, in fact some were shirtless playing basketball) and the adults were all watching them! Picture that, I had to see it! How does it come to this? Just a little compromise in one generation compounds in the next and so on until that one inch shorter is now mini shorts and halter tops! I saw the proof of it!!!!
This is what sin does. It compounds upon the next one and before you know it, the truth is so far behind that nobody even knows what it is anymore!
I get tired of people telling us that what we do (calling out every sin) is wrong. Let me get this straight...
We go out into the world 24/7, dealing with the lost world and the religious hypocrites and those who may be seeking. (Are there any other groups left?) We sleep in parking lots next to the lowest of society, we are harassed by mockers and deal with the police from them (some police are nice, some aren't as you can see on our videos), we are laughed it, called homeless and told to get a job like we're bums and all out of love for our neighbor because we don't want them to perish in their sins....that we call them out of.
Yet the people who are telling us we're doing it wrong, are doing nothing biblical to love their neighbor... I get it.
We're not going to stop calling people out of their sins and standing on the Truth of God's Word because we see the ramifications of those so called 'non salvation issues' or 'non essentials'.
Well, those 'non essentials' are now producing what we have to deal with on a daily basis....outright sinful disobedience to God's Word in all areas! Those 'non essentials' are sending people right down to hell and we sisters better care about that because ALL of God's word matters. Who gave us the authority to deem one commandment more important than the other? Who cares about an inch? Tell that to the virtually naked anabaptist women!
Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Yep, that means not only commands about abortion, murder, adultery, lying etc...it also refers to clothing too. Just sayin' because there are so many haters of that command that they try to diminish the importance of it and then we see what we saw this weekend.
I'm fighting the fight against that slow fade (in all things) are you?
Let us stand strong on every word sisters even if you have to go it alone like Brother Jim always tells men. Be a Noah and do what God has commanded.
Amen. I'm done for today.
Peace, blessings and love to my truly obedient sisters who don't put one command over the other:-)
