Keeping Ourselves Pure

Image
Good evening sisters in Christ! I hope your day is well in the Lord!  Today I want to talk about keeping ourselves pure (as we see we are to keep ourselves unspotted in James 1) in the sense of living in the world but not of it.  I thought I'd share part of an email that I sent a younger sister, then expound on it.  The goal of this article is to encourage you sisters to have characters of purity, even as we walk through this wicked world. **************************************** "You mentioned being pure for Christ and yes, we should all strive for that, amen sister!  We also have to realize and understand that what the world does, does not defile us as long as we don't participate in it. Us being out in the streets dealing with the vileness, profanity, hypocrisy of claimed Christians, immodesty, worldly music, demonic activity,  ungodly conversations etc day in and day out do not defile us and we remain pure.  The brothers and sisters around the world living with unbeli

Dirty Money

Greetings sisters in Christ! Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20 What an awesome thought, amen sisters?  Some day that will be us children of God, all together as a family, with the Lord.  Until then we must continue to strive on obediently, joyfully and boldly in the truth. As this world unfolds into something we've never seen, I try not to waste too much time on it but I wanted to share this with you.  See this bag of money? We used cash to pay for something and after passing it under a big plexiglas shield, into the plastic gloved hands of a person on the other side making a strange face about it, we received this change back in a bag.  Brother Jim and I were dumbfounded at the idiocracy of what is going on in this world.  For a brief moment it almost made my cry because this all makes me feel dirty and defeated but then I had a fl

Greetings sisters in Christ! We had a brother in the Lord asking technical questions so brother Jim had me send some info to him.  As we finished up, he sent me this encouragement and I wanted to share it with you :-) He has a very interesting depth in the way he looks at things in this world and compares it to God's Word.  Praise God, our Father is the Alpha and Omega, He is All in All, the Beginning and the End, the King of King and Lord of Lords.  Amen! Let us remember that each day as we face our trials. Be strong sisters. Love in Christ, Sister Deb The biblical gospel... https://www.dontperish.com/the-gospel.html

The Power of God

Image
Greetings to our sisters in Christ. I saw in my notes about a woman I witnessed to a while back and wanted to share it with you. Brother Jim and I were taking our morning walk and went past one of those expensive nutrition stores and in the window I saw a  'CLEARANCE' sign on a table full of nutritional bars.  I said to brother Jim that maybe we should check it out to see if there would be anything for us, so we went inside.  The woman said that they were 75% off and some were buy one, get one half off and then the 75% off...she spoke to my frugal keeper at home heart :-) We found some incredible deals and she was happy to get them off the shelf and not have to toss them.  Brother Jim went outside to wait while I checked out and I had a good conversation with her, explaining that we are born again Christians, brother Jim is an evangelist, and we have given up our lives to share the gospel all over the country. I gave her a gospel card and explained how man made religi

Strength to Stand, God Gives us What We Need

Greetings sisters in Christ, I pray this day you are continuing on in the faith, standing boldly on His truth and not wavering to this wicked world!  I'm praying for you to march on sisters. We have ventured to a place that needed a specific witnessing, a 'calling out' and a hope for repentance from those within.  I'll share what we encountered on the way.  We were pleasantly surprised with the scenery that we saw along the way, beautiful mountains up ahead. What beautiful creation our Father has made! Bless the  Lord , O my soul. O  Lord  my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should n

A Rough Road

Image
Greetings, sisters, in the name of our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ! You may be alone where you are but you are not alone as there are others striving for truth all around the world.  Our Father has each of us right where He wants us.  The other day I was thinking pretty deep on some subjects and as I was going to meet up with brother Jim who had already started our morning walk, I saw some sparrows flitting around in the parking lot.  They were so sweet and it was a comfort to me because our Father knows when even one of them fall.  How much more does He watch over His children. The Christian life can be a rough road to travel at times and we were warned it would be so... Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (1 Peter 4:12-13) I just

Power to the Faint

Greetings sisters! I was looking through my notes that I wanted to share with you and came across this one on Isaiah 40:29 and I just felt led to write a post to all you sisters who are struggling through trials.  We all go through seasons, some are joyous, some are grievous but in all we are to rejoice in the hope of eternal life and that is what strengthens us to endure through all the troubles of this earth. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?  The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:55-58) Death is not our greatest enemy any longer as we have life in Christ Jesus, for those who believe in Him (John 3:16) have repented (Luke 13:3)  are born from above (John 3

Encouragement from the Brethren

Good morning sisters! We are blessed today to serve our King and let us thank Him each day for that! Yesterday I had a bit of weakness as I was blindsided by my flesh and it overtook my mind, tearing at my heart as I digressed back to less than a year ago when we went through a dark time.  While I battled my flesh to press through it I kept thinking that I need strength.  I looked to the Lord to give me that strength to beat my flesh / mind into submission and overcome the tricks of satan to try to bring me down. Our Father takes care of us if we go to Him and it was not long and I was back in a joyous state of mind, ready to be a helper to my husband. Later on in the day we read a post from a younger brother in the Lord who has trials of his own but he keeps pressing through.  The scriptures he posted greatly encouraged me and I wanted to share here. Job 39:19  Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder? Job 39:20  Canst thou make him afraid as a
