How Our Father In Heaven Protected His Daughter

Image
Good evening Sisters! Praise the Lord for this quiet and peace filled evening we are having, I pray you are as well. Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the  Lord  thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Dueteronomy 31:6 I really appreciate the verses about God protecting us, being there for us and us fearing nothing but Him. It's that time of year I boost myself on these verses because we are getting closer to being out in the world on the road.  We have some work to do yet (praise God for proving for us) and then we will be set free to 'go'.  I encourage myself with God's promises because it's a wicked world and every year that we do this we cause more and more enemies of which some day I wouldn't doubt if they follow through on their hatred.   But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues Matthew 10:17 The...

Saving Money #10 Focus

Image
Greetings sisters! Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2 I use that verse to start off this letter to you because it's a great one for the topic "focus" in reference to saving money. What is your focus?  If your mind and affections are set on things above then what you do here on the earth will greatly be impacted in a good and godly way.   We have to be careful that while living on this earth we don't get swept away with the comforts of the flesh (you can read an article here on that:  https://titus24sisters.blogspot.com/2019/06/killing-comfort-and-being-set-free-from.html  ) and the desires that can be stirred by the offerings of the world. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that y...

Saving Money #9 Reuse and Recycle

Image
Hello Sisters! I pray you are standing strong and watching out for our adversary (1 Peter 5:8) Because the weather is so cool right now we have changed our travel plans to stay here at our homestead in Missouri to work on orders.  Every day something changes and so I'm glad that I've killed enough flesh to where it really doesn't phase me when we have to drop plans and redo them....sometimes a couple times in a day:-) So on to #9 how we save money. This post is on Reusing and Recycling. One way that most people can save quite a bit of money is by going to resale shops, consignment shops, and rummage sales.  Throughout most of my life I have shopped that way and it was rare for me to pay full price on anything from clothes to furniture to everday household items. I exercised (and still do) a lot of patience and waited (sometimes years) to find items that I was unwilling to pay full price for.  It wouldn't have been sinful for me to pay full price, it was so...

Saving Money #8 Quality vs Quantity

Image
Good afternoon sisters! Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 We need to remember that!  Praise God for another day to glorify Him in this present wicked world.  Let your light so shine... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 Amen! Today I want to continue working on the 10 ways we save money and this is number 8 Quality vs Quantity Basically what we do is thoughfully consider whatever we buy to see if it's quality (that will last) vs quantity to just be buying things.  Let me explain....many women have a lust of the flesh to shop. The thrill of buying new things or hunting down bargains becomes like an addiction and they are no longer content with what they have but they constantly have to be looking for something new and different.  There's nothing sinful about buying t...

Saving Money #7 Using Cash

Image
Good evening again sisters! We are grateful that the weather here has been holding off some of the normal humidity at this time of year so the evenings are cool for sleeping.  Sometimes we have rough nights with high humidity and we don't run our generator all night so I use some sort of fan. I actually have 3 different kinds.  This one here is re-chargeable with a usb cable.  I've got one that uses batteries and then another one that charges by solar or plug in.  Depending on the sun and how much we have charged during the day will determine which one I use.  Anyway, we're thankful for each day no matter the weather:-) So this post is about how we save money using cash and it's something we started doing years ago.  It's  a pretty simple concept really, rather old fashioned and not many people do it nowdays but it works well for watching what you spend. We have found that when we were using a credit or debit card that we spent more tha...

Saving Money #6 Driving Or The Lack Of It

Image
Greetings again my frugal sisters! Here is #6 on how we save money and I can't believe I'm going to say this because we live in a van for a good part of the year but it would be 'driving' or the lack of it.  :-) Most of you already realize that if you don't drive you don't use money on gas or maintenance of a vehicle.  Of course we all need to be able to find transportation to get groceries and such but there are ways to make it more frugal. One thing I have learned is to stock up to eliminate last minute dashes to the store.  Take some time to make a master list of non-perishable items you use all the time and do not want to run out, then make a plan to build up a supply of such items.  (Pantry staples, personal items, cleaning supplies etc.) In addition to that list make another list of perishable items that you commonly use so when you go shopping you have a guide that helps keep you from impulse buys.  It's also nice to have that list if you...

Saving Money Pt #5 - Utilities

Image
Good afternoon sisters! I plan to do a marathon to finish #6 - 10 on how we save money and have them done in the next couple days if all goes well. This one is on utilities and in that will be electric, gas / propane, sewer and water as well as cell phone and internet.  Here is what I have learned how to save money in these areas: By us being off grid we save a lot each month which adds up to thousands of dollars each year that we can use for the ministry.  It's like getting a pay raise or allows us to work a bit less and still maintain so that we can be on the road sharing the gospel more. Because we have no utility bills here it only costs us $20 a month for our homestead and that's for taxes. We pay for our freedom by killing our flesh but it's all for the Lord. I do have a lot of experience in the past with all the above topics so I'll share what I used to do to save money to help set us free.  Most are common sense but there are some you might find could be ...

Killing the Comfort of the Flesh Pt #2

Image
Greetings sisters! I hope you are all doing well today!   Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.  I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,  Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ  Philippians 1:2-6 Hey, just this morning I posted another letter for you about killing the comfort of the flesh and shortly after that we received some pictures from a brother in the Lord.  He's an over the road trucker learning a simple life, working hard to set himself free to become an over the road preacher!   Anyway he sent this picture of his breakfast and was  joyous that he had a table.... It's actually the bumper to his truck. He's got a bucket for a seat, a bump...
