Beautiful Waterfalls

Greetings sisters! Today I share with you the beauty of God's creation.  We had business to do in a big town and in the center of it ran a river, over the rocks, making these beautiful falls. We are rejoicing because not only did we get to see this beautiful sight, but we had just finished another step in our freedom. Psalm 150: was sent to us from a brother in the Lord and they are very fitting here: Praise ye the  Lord . Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.  Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the  Lord . Praise ye the  Lord . Amen! Have a joyous evening. The Serpent

Hello Sisters! I pray your day is filled with peace and joy and may the Lord bless you in your obedience.  But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) God has given us the choice to follow His word and when we don't, our end is destruction just as we saw in the garden.  Sadly, yesterday we were shown the destruction of a man who turned back to his vomit.  He wasn't willing to give his life entirely to the Lord but kept holding on to his flesh and followed it right back into his sin. Brother Jim just did a teaching on the truth of God's word being to the hearers salvation or damnation.  We have been pondering that lately as we see the Word go out and continuously be rejected.  We tell ourselves that maybe seeds were planted but then we also remind ourselves that God is glorified even if it's to someone's damnation by rejecting it.  Our Father is righteous and just and what happens to

Drug Deals and Discernment

Greetings sisters! I pray you are redeeming the time for the Lord (Ephesians 5:16) for the days are evil.  There is much to be learned and maturity to be had and if we strive every day, enduring through this world, we will be victorious over sin and gain in wisdom. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.   A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. (James 1:5-8) James tells us that if we lack wisdom that God will give it to us as long as we don't waver, lest we be like a double minded man tossed about. We need wisdom in this world of deception for false teachers are on every corner and in every source of media.  Not only are false teachers out there but false mindsets that we gr

Greetings sisters! We are praising God for being in the right place at the right time!  Halelujah! This morning brother Jim was planning for us to stand outside of a religious place but changed his mind and said we will go fishing / work online with our bible out and praise God, some fish walked right in and over to our table!  A man and 6 young teen boys walked up and said they were from a religious organization and they were out for the day asking people questions and listening to their answers.  They asked brother Jim a few light faith based questions and then were going to leave but he gave them all a gospel card.  As they left, Jim went outside to talk to them further and was able to verbally share the gospel and show them the false teachings and lies of man made religion. Seeds were sown this morning and we are thankful to be used of the Lord.  Brother Jim said ' that's why we live in a van, so we can be out here in the world .'  Yesterday we were in a parking l

Appreciating the Differences Between Men and Women

Image
Greetings sisters! I pray your day is joyous in the Lord:-) Brother Jim and I were talking about some of the differences between men and women and how oftentimes these differences can cause stress and tension in a marriage.  These issues are little things in life and should remain that way if we take a biblical approach to dealing with them. What brought about this discussion was something that happened the other day and I'll call it: *Fluffy Fillers and Caulk Our van can get cold at night because we don't heat it while we sleep so I bought us each a fluffy small blanket that we can lay lengthwise down the edge of the bed to help keep drafts out and it's soft and warm to the touch as opposed to ice cold sheets.  The other day, after using it for a while, brother Jim said to me " Thanks for getting that blanket, I appreciated it last night.  It's like caulk, I can poke it in the holes and it keeps out the cold. " I laughed and said ' That&#

Blast From My Past...Woodstove Baked Potatoes

We truly appreciate our simple life...and by simple we don't mean ' easy ' we mean ' uncomplicated '. In a sense that's why people love camping, or 'roughing it', because of the simplicity of it. Nobody cares if you wash your dishes the old fashioned way (by hand:-) instead of a dishwasher. Nobody cares if there is a little sand tracked in the floor of the tent or camper, that comes with the territory and you just sweep it up. Nobody cares if you wear the same shirt or skirt several days in a row, that's simply what you do when you're not worried about what everyone else thinks. Nobody cares if you just wing your meals over a fire and eat whatever you have without making a big fuss. That's simplicity and is what we appreciate in our lives. Since we heat with wood, cooking with the woodstove is just the normal thing to do and it doesn't get much more simple than wrapping up a potato and putting it in the woodstove to cook. It's a

Blast From My Past....Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe Just Add Water

Image
Hello Sisters, Here is another post from my old homestead blog that I though you may find useful. ************************************************* Here's one of my favorite recipes I turn to when I want something quick, healthy (for the most part) and something small to nibble on with a cup of coffee for an afternoon 'pick us up; give us energy' snack:-)  These cookies are made entirely of dry goods, yes, everything is dry except the water.  If you've read enough of the posts here you will see that we have a lot of bulk dry goods in various forms such as rice, beans, lentils, grains, flour etc but we also have a small supply of unusual dry goods....such as chicken, turkey, beef, peanut butter powder, tomato powder, powdered eggs, butter powder, shortening powder etc. We prefer the whole foods in their natural forms but we also like to be prepared for all times which makes for a well stocked pantry for every occasion from needing quick meals; regular 'f

Letter of Feminism from a Mennonite

Image
Hello Sisters! Praise God for each day...and I never tire of saying that:-) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57) We received this in the mail and since we travel and hardly check our mail, it had been sitting there for a while. (I blurred the words.) Here's the story on it... Brother Jim had given a Mennonite man a gospel tract many months ago, the man took it home and his wife decided to write to us.   No, he didn't write the letter. Their bishop didn't write the letter. None of the men in their body wrote us a letter. She did. =   Feminism.  Let me explain some more: We have a specific gospel tract made for the anabaptist type people and it shares with them how the anabaptist denominations (Mennonite, Amish, German Baptist etc) have many man made rituals that are unbiblical and sinful.  Our tract covers things like not preaching a biblical gospel, Christmas, Easter, their unbibl
