Learn How To Make Bread

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ, I pray you are all doing well today! Today I'm sharing about bread.   Just hearing that word sounds nourishing doesn't it?  Our Saviour is the bread of life: And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35 He spiritually nourishes us and satisfies our hunger of truth. The gospel, good news, is the way to eternal life and those born of it will strive in obedience, out of love of what He has done, until He brings them home.  Amen. This post on learning how to make bread is one that I root in our Savior because the Israelites ate manna in the dessert and it sustained them.  We read about bread through the bible and it sustained them.  Sadly today, bread has a bad rap and I'm about to expose it and encourage you all to think about learning how to make it as times get tough you will want to know ahead of time, how to be resourceful in feed

No Knead White Boule Bread

Greetings sisters in Christ! I pray you are all diligent in your keeper at home duties :-) Today I bring you an easy bread recipe that I found on my old homestead blog.  I hope you enjoy it. **************************************************** This bread is super simple to make and tastes excellent.  It slices great, you can rip hunks off it, it doesn't fall apart and everyone we serve it to is astonished at how simple and tasty it is, not to mention economical! You will need 4 ingredients: 3 cups White Flour 1 teaspoon Salt 1 teaspoon Yeast 1 1/2 cup Water (warm) That's it!  We try to purchase unbromated/unbleached flour when possible but don't fret if you can't find it, you're still doing yourself a favor by making your own either way as compared to buying from the store. Before we start you will need to have a pan.  Cast Iron is best, here's an example of what I use.... Here's what you do.... * Put the flour in a bowl then mix in sa

Homemade Pizza

Greetings sisters in Christ! Today we woke up to rain but not long after the sun came out.  There's something uplifting about the sunshine (most of the time:-) after coming out of a darker winter like some areas have.  Brother Jim has been working on cleaning up some wood piles around here and we'll likely get more wood cut and stocked up while we're here.  He also started a mulch pile for a potential future garden.  Who knows what the future holds and we're just preparing is all. Speaking of preparing, I prepared some homemade pizza yesterday and let me tell you, brother Jim was super excited!  I know there are tons of recipes for pizza but I'll share mine with you just because.  When we were in Wisconsin and had electricity, I made pizza a lot because we consider it a regular meal with ingredients that we eat anyway.  Bread, tomatoes and cheese is basically what it is and I add mushrooms on top and it's relatively inexpensive to make. Here's my

Encouragement for Those That We Cannot Communicate With Directly

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! I hope your evening (or whatever time it is when you read this) is going well and that you did all things unto the glory of our Father in heaven. Tonight I want to send out encouragement to sisters who have come into our life but because of certain circumstances, we cannot have one on one communication with them.   There's a young woman (she will know who I mean) that I want to encourage and say that we see the Holy Spirit moving in your life based on the convictions you are having. (Leaving sports and worldliness, covering, fearing God etc.) I encourage you to continue to study God's Word and obey what you learn.  Our teaching blog is there for you with many articles to answer many questions. I want you to ponder this as well...   Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called. Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather. For he that is called in the Lord, being a s

The Gospel Driveway

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ, Today I want to share with you, a post from my old homestead blog.  I think you will enjoy it... **************************************** There is a very interesting drive way I know of that I would like to tell you about. It begins just off of a quiet country road in the middle of a mostly pine and (some) mixed hardwood Wisconsin forest. It is about a quarter of a mile long through the peaceful woods where you can see many different plants and trees and animals as you pass by. The driveway is very special for many reasons. It not only leads to a joyful farm home but provides a path to harvest both firewood for winter warmth, delicious black berries, wild foraged food and quiet time in God's creation. As you drive or walk upon it and you pay attention you may see rabbits, song birds, porcupines, grouse, deer, owls, eagles etc. Many peace filled walks have been taken down on this driveway and it is surely appreciated as a gift from God in so ma
