How Beautiful are the Feet of Them That Preach the Gospel of Peace

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Praise the Lord, sing praises to His name.  The power of God is shown in the preaching of the gospel!  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 116 Today we drove through the countryside on our way to our destination for the evening and at an intersection, far from town, was a man selling Satsuma's from flatbed trailer. Neither brother Jim, nor I, knew what they were so I quickly looked them up on the internet and when we saw they were mandarins, we turned around and went back.  He was selling them individual or by the bag.  (Fresh picked from the trees, yay!) He let us sample one and we ended up buying a bag.  As we finished our business he asked us if we were gypsies.  Brother Jim was able to give him the gospel and a warning about man made religion.  (The man agreed.)  We thanked him and went on our way, s

Quick on the Draw (Being Prepared to Share the Gospel)

Greetings sisters in the Lord! Did you put on your armor this morning?  (Ephesians 5)  Did you thank the Lord for the hope of eternal life that He offers to those who follow Him?  If we start our day in thankfulness and putting on our armor, we will be ready for the battle and the strength to do it.  Being ready in all situations is very important and I am constantly reminded of it, in our mobile life on the road sharing the gospel.  Sometimes with my struggles in the flesh I have to work a little harder at it but I remind myself that I'm here as a vessel for the Lord, and willingly so.  I always want to be ready to give a gospel tract and although I don't usually get the chance to speak much to others about it, I get opportunities to hand them out.  One such time was this afternoon when we stopped to put some gas in the van.  Brother Jim had just finished and left the rest to me so I could get the receipt and close it up while he went inside to get our ice. (We have

The Gospel Message in a New Year

Greetings sisters in Christ, As the world celebrates a new year 2020, brother Jim and I treat each day the same, glorifying God in each one.  I simply want to share the gospel with you.  The path in belief to repentance in which you receive a new heart, mind and life and then obey until the end.  This is copied from our dontperish.com website. Gospel means GOOD NEWS and followers of Christ are commanded to GO and proclaim it to all, so that is what we are striving to do for God's glory at dontperish.com But before we tell you the good news you must know the  bad news  first so you can appreciate the gospel and know what is at stake! The Bible says,  "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"  ( Romans 3:23 ).   It also says,   " And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things  are  naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we  must give  account." ( Hebrews 4:13 ).    You see, sin separates us from God and it will lead one to hell no

Born Again By The Word of God

Image
Greetings sisters! Praise God for His precious word that transforms lives. Brother Jim and I are testimony to this and it's what I want to talk about today. Being born again by the Word of God, not mystical situations that happen to people. We just (again) went through a situation about this so it inspired me to write and warn you. I will give you our testimony and then compare it to the testimonies that we hear. First I will post a link from our ministry site to the (in depth) biblical gospel, from God's Word, that brother Jim preaches and we stand on. https://www.dontperish.com/the-gospel.html    (Please go there with your husband to read it.) An abbreviated version is what we have on our gospel cards here: When you read God's Word you see that a person is born again through the Word, by the Spirit. Read John 1 about the Word. 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2  The same was in the beginning with G

An Unusual Haven

Image
Good morning sisters! I pray in this day you have peace and joy. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. (Isaiah 55:12) Each day we have is a gift from the Lord, one that we will redeem the time for Him (Ephesians 5) and not let the ways of the world overtake us.   I'm so grateful this morning, we have a little haven in the midst of this busy world.  I'm battling a sickness that Jim is on the other side of and when I woke up I was strengthening myself for sitting in a busy mechanics lobby (we had to take our van in the shop) for a couple hours.  When we got here all the seats were taken so brother Jim went back to the van and got our chairs. And here we sit, nestled in amongst the tires, not having to deal with the television on the other end of the lobby and having a bit of our own space.  It's much more resting for m

But By the Grace of God I Am What I Am

Image
Greetings sisters! But by the grace of God I am what I am: and His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain...  (1 Corinthians 15:10)  I didn't finish the verse because I cannot claim that I have labored more than others.  I just wanted to give our Father praise to the fact that I am not who I used to be. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (Romans 6:6) Amen. Just yesterday we witnessed a drunken man sleeping in a public place, about to tip over off a chair.  The staff were concerned he would fall and hurt himself so they called the police to see what to do.  The police showed up and we heard them talking, at one point he cried then kept trying to reassure them he would do no harm.  He didn't want to leave so they had to cuff him, thankfully he didn't resist and he calmly walked out the door with them. It made us sad. The world looks down on people l
