Reaping the Rewards of Patience

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:24-25 We are to patiently endure through this life and wait for our redemption.  Amen, what a blessed hope we have and what else could bring more joy than to know that if we are faithful, we will be with our Father in heaven! We learn much patience out here on the road, dealing with the world in a face to face manner as you sisters too, learn much patience in your own lives!  This post is two fold, one on the patience of us sisters enduring and the other is patience in the flesh while in the world. That video shows us being passed on the highway by many people and we could certainly be doing their speed (over 70 mph) but we choose to slow down not only for safety but it saves us money.  An average of $4 per hour actually (at the current gas prices) so do the math, wit

Fixin' and Frugality

Greetings sisters in Christ, I pray you are continuing to press through the trials in your life, leaning on the Lord and being strengthened through this life.  If you are weathering a storm right now, hold tight as it will pass the sun will shine again.  Someday we will be at rest from the troubles of this world and be with our Savior for all of eternity.  Strive on sisters, pressing forward to the mark and know that our Father is able to help us overcome all things:-) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4 Brother Jim and I have walked through too many trials to count, some were virtually devastating and some terribly painful, but after each one we were stronger and more equipped to deal with the next one and gird up our loins for it.  Rather like bracing for what we went through this past several days on the stre

A Trashy Table

Greetings sisters in Christ! Praise the Lord for this day no matter how hot or dusty it is:-)  We are all here to do the works of the Father and glorify Him, that is our reasonable service (Romans 12:1) amen sisters? We have left the campground and all the wonderful witnessing events there, and moved on down the road.  We have a few days of travel before we hit the next proposed destination for what we hope will be an opportunity for street preaching, in a (hopefully) busy tourist town(s).  We shall see and if the Lord wills we will do that.  Otherwise we will go along with whatever comes up and be joyous in it. While we were at the campground (which was a great blessing for me as I needed some extra rest) brother Jim did a lot of walking back and forth to the water spigot and found a table in the garbage.  Yep, he brought it back and we are happy to have such a nice tool:-)  A tool that will become something else in addition to a table. It's light weight and when

$1.58 Keeper at Home Harvest

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Praise the Lord we have had a chance to reorganize some things in the van (which needs to be done on a regular basis when living tiny) and catch up on some ministry projects.  I don't do much for keeper at home posts because I'm not on a homestead or even in a house so I have less of those chores to do but if I suppose if I thought hard enough I could come up with some posts for tiny house living...such as tools or gadgets I use:-) Being on the road doesn't allow me to have a garden like some of you are blessed with so I love hearing how your gardens are doing and how you take care of the bounty, good job sisters!  The way I harvest is from wise shopping, my phone apps (you can see that post HERE ) and surveys.  I'm always amazed at how our Father provides for us in so many different ways, one of which is low cost groceries. Brother Jim said that he was really hungry for a cheeseburger (those are super rare for us) so when I wen

Managing with the Minimum

Greetings sisters in Christ! We were looking at a big pond in town (there are tons of them on the east coast) and talking about how peaceful it makes you feel when you can step away from the business of life and take some time to refresh in nature.  It's calm and peaceful, refreshment to the soul.  I mentioned how awesome it must be in heaven to not have to worry about all the earthly, fleshly battles and to have that peace and brother Jim added that it will be a hundred fold.  I can't fathom an environment like that. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,  But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. Mark 10:29-30 In the meantime, until we get there, we must strive

Cash Back Savings

Image
Good afternoon sisters in Christ! This post is just a quick one to share one way I save money as a keeper of the home.  Some of you may already know about cash back savings but for those that don't, let me explain. There are websites and phone apps that offer cash back on purchases so when you buy something that qualifies, through  their website or app, you will receive money back to you in an account.  (Sort of like electronic coupons.) Once your account reaches a certain amount, you can cash it out into your bank, paypal etc. Let me give you an example of how this works through a phone app. I found 2 of these boxes of Atkins bars discounted to $1.00 each.  We don't buy such things unless I find deals like this. I purchased them for a total of $2.00 and when I got back to our van I took care of the receipt by opening the app, snapping a picture of the receipt and marking the quantity I purchased then uploading it through the app.  Within a half hour I had $3 in

Eat This Not That

Greetings to my keeper at home sisters in Christ! Today I want to venture into the territory of foods and how it can take you into a whirlwind of confusion and despair, if you are not careful. Many of you will nod your heads and smile, knowing what I'm talking about but for those of you who are new to the world of the healthy food trap, let me enlighten you. The reason I want to do this is because many people question how, as Christians, we are to eat while living in this fallen world. Let me show you what you will find on the internet... * Eggs - Don't eat them because they contain cholesterol.  If you do eat them then toss out the yolk because that's where it is.  Eat lots of eggs because you need tons of protein, in fact eat them raw, they are better for you. Don't eat raw eggs, they'll kill you.  Don't eat eggs from chickens that aren't free range.  Only organic fed chickens have good eggs.  * Milk - Don't drink it because it has horm
