Modify a Skirt Waist
Greetings sisters in Christ! Praise God for every day we have to glorify our Father by being a living example of a transformed life, to those around us. Let the word go out. This is just a quick post on how to modify a skirt waist, based on a conversation with a sister about finding clothes at thrift stores and modifying to fit us. It's very easy to do and if you have a sewing machine you can do it in about 5 minutes. It takes longer to set up the machine than it does to modify:-) See the picture below. (I'm not an artist:-) All you need to do is sew the corners of the skirt to take it in just enough that it won't fall off your hips. Cut off the excess material and you are done! It works best if you leave the skirt right side out so that you don't have a raw edge against you. Yep, it looks unfinished and yep, you may have a bulge there, yep it might make the skirt stick out a bit more in the hip area. What do I say to that? If you are concerned about those issues
