Keeping Ourselves Pure

Image
Good evening sisters in Christ! I hope your day is well in the Lord!  Today I want to talk about keeping ourselves pure (as we see we are to keep ourselves unspotted in James 1) in the sense of living in the world but not of it.  I thought I'd share part of an email that I sent a younger sister, then expound on it.  The goal of this article is to encourage you sisters to have characters of purity, even as we walk through this wicked world. **************************************** "You mentioned being pure for Christ and yes, we should all strive for that, amen sister!  We also have to realize and understand that what the world does, does not defile us as long as we don't participate in it. Us being out in the streets dealing with the vileness, profanity, hypocrisy of claimed Christians, immodesty, worldly music, demonic activity,  ungodly conversations etc day in and day out do not defile us and we remain pure.  The brothers and sisters around the world living with unbeli

Striving Daily

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ around the world! How wonderful to know that God has His people, all over, shining their light and bringing Him glory! We daughters of the most High, have our own callings, in our own places and we are all to do what we do to the best of our ability, rejoicing for the opportunity to do so.  I can still feel the residue of my past wretched life, at times, and it only serves to press me on more!  When we encounter trials and tribulations, it makes me strive harder.  When people come at us from all different directions or we endure much vexation from the world on a daily basis, it presses me on to be even more steadfast in my walk.  I pray that is so with you also! The more you walk, the stronger you get, we see that in the saints all over.     11  According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12  In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 13  Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations fo

Reaping the Rewards of Patience

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:24-25 We are to patiently endure through this life and wait for our redemption.  Amen, what a blessed hope we have and what else could bring more joy than to know that if we are faithful, we will be with our Father in heaven! We learn much patience out here on the road, dealing with the world in a face to face manner as you sisters too, learn much patience in your own lives!  This post is two fold, one on the patience of us sisters enduring and the other is patience in the flesh while in the world. That video shows us being passed on the highway by many people and we could certainly be doing their speed (over 70 mph) but we choose to slow down not only for safety but it saves us money.  An average of $4 per hour actually (at the current gas prices) so do the math, wit

Being Quietly Content

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Let us rejoice in this day, where God has us, and strive on until He brings us home.  Today I want to talk about being quietly content.  1 Peter 3 tells us godly women that we should have a meek and quiet spirit and if we explore that meaning we see it is  ' mildness of disposition, humble, gentleness ' and it stems from trust in God's goodness and control over a situation.  Quiet is ' still, undisturbing, keeping one's seat, peaceable quiet, tranquil '.  That draws a picture of a quiet woman who is content to allow God to take over and she is mild and peaceable in her spirit.  That's an attribute that is not something that you just ' do ', it's something you ' become '.  It becomes a part of who you are and your spirit will reflect that.  Let me ask you this...shouldn't a woman who has a meek and quiet spirit, also be content?  Of course God's word tells all believers to be content in all things as w

Quick Wash For Camping or Travel or Any Day Use

Greetings sisters in Christ! Praise God for all things and let us be content in our lives! Sometimes people wonder how they can stay clean when a shower is not available or one does not have time.  Showers are a recent invention and it wasn't long ago that sponge baths were a main way people cleaned up.  My Titus 2 offering is a simple, easy way to clean without much fuss or using a lot of water for instances as mentioned.  I call this a bucket bath and can wash myself from face to feet with about a quart of water. I use a collapsible tub like this... (It collapses and is nice and flat for small spaces.) I put in my water, a squirt of witch hazel... (I buy whatever kind is on sale.) And a squirt of natural soap. (I buy what's on sale and found a few of those kind for $1.50 and had coupons on top of that:-) Swish the water around and you are ready to wash.  I use a hand towel for washing and one for drying off.  For those who have never done this,

Love, Lights, Shocks and Blocks

Image
Greetings to all you sisters in Christ, scattered around the world! Let our lights so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven! (Matthew 5:16)   There's always so much going on that sometimes I just don't know what to pick to post here for you sisters.  An update, a witnessing experience, a keeper at home subject etc...all of which, hopefully, is an encouragement in one way or another. Today I thought I'd do a post on love, lights, shocks and blocks.  Maybe with some other things added into it, we'll see as I go:-) Love.  God's Word teaches us that love (agape) is not just a feeling, it's an action.  When it comes to husband and wife there is to be agape love as well as a more close love between to people but for the sake of not teaching theology here, I just wanted to give some examples of that sort of love in a simple manner in our life. The world teaches to show love on certain days, buying things people re

Street Preaching in North Platte, NE

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Let us rejoice in every day that we get to serve our Lord and Master, amen?   Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. [2] Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us. Psalm 123:1-2  We were out on the streets today, sharing the gospel good news. Brother Jim preached about the gospel of peace today, with it being for those who are in Christ, and the gospel of the Hebrews sword that will slice those who are not in Him, to reveal their sins and need of a redemptive Savior.   Here are some videos if you are interested.  https://www.dontperish.com/witnessing-videos/street-preaching-rebuking-new-life-church-north-platte-nebraska Yes, brother Jim calls out the leaders of the religious body because they are held accountable to a higher standard as we see in James 3:1.  The Word of G

Sunset and Scripture

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Let us rejoice in this day, giving praise and Thanksgiving to our Father.  We are, once again, thankful to be able to stop at one of our favorite places in Nebraska and will be enjoying it while we go in the town to witness for the weekend.  The Lord's will be done! I thought I'd share tonight's sunset and scriptures as my words mean nothing compared to the glory of God, His word, His truth and His creation. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:1-3  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separa

Witnessing for Women

Image
Greetings sisters in the Lord! I pray you are well today, keeping your sights on the Lord and things eternal, not this earth and what is fast passing away.  We've had some very busy days of street preaching / witnessing, ministry etc and we sure have experience and learned a lot.  Brother Jim has asked me to write this and share my witnessing experiences to encourage you for when you have the opportunity yourself. We can also look in God's Word to see how women were used in the proclamation of Christ as encouragement for us godly women today. Just the other day I had a witnessing encounter and I'll start with that as an example.  I'll share word for word so you can see how it went. Here's the account: Man : "Are you from Israel?" Me : "No sir, my husband and I are born again believing followers of Jesus Christ.  We read God's Word and obey it.  My husband is a street preacher and we travel all over the country, would you like a gospel card
