A Solar Dryer and Pan Pizza

Greetings to my hard working, obedient sisters in the Lord! Our day was joyous and very busy, how was yours?  I thought I'd share some Titus 2 moments from the day.  Last night I hand washed some clothes and then as we were driving today, I tossed them up on the dash of the van to dry.  Even though the temps were a bit chilly, the sun shining in the windshield made it nice and warm so they dried during the drive:-)  I washed some more today but it's supposed to rain tomorrow so they'll be hanging around for a while! Apparently some people dehydrate food on the dash of their vehicles, you just shut the windows but leave a small crack, then let the sun do it's work.  That only works for vehicles that are not constantly driving down the road, like ours.  We've had a nice route of work so we're going to take the day off from travel and hold up until the rain passes.   Brother Jim asked me this afternoon if I had any coupons for a pizza from our favorite place (they

Greetings to our sister saints around the world! Praise the Lord that we get to send such encouragement to everyone with the press of a button.  Obviously satan will use this technology for His ill will but for the time being we shall shine our light in it!  Today as we were traveling we were greeted with passersby's (flying like 80 mph) honking angrily and giving obscene gestures but our light was shining.  (As a side note, they like to drive fast around here!)  I grew up when it was a big deal to make it as fast as 55 mph in our old vehicles and since then the vehicles go like crazy and the roads are opened for it.  In fact, one area through Oklahoma says you cannot go under 60 mph.  So you would get a ticket for wanting to go slower and be safe?  I don't know about this world, and we constantly see signs stating the death count on the highways for that state, like 686 and its not the end of the year yet.   Anyway, today was a travel day and then brother Jim changed the oil

Greetings sisters in Christ! I pray your Titus 2 day is going well and that regardless of what your duties are, you are joyfully doing them unto the Lord!  I received a gift today, from brother Jim who was so sweet to find it for me.  I mentioned in a previous post that my little propane cooker is in a unique spot on our shelving unit. (When we bought the van there was a metal utility shelf unit that we kept to use and that's where I have a lot of our foods and my cooker.)  It's located on the bottom shelf about 10" from the floor and it's lower than the cooler I sit on as my seat so I have to curl up, twist sideways and peer down into the cubby hole to cook. It works fine there as that's the only shelf that has enough height to use it, the ones above are not as generous with the headspace.  I've been getting along well except I just recently mentioned that maybe there might be a small light that we could add in there because as it is now, I have to hold the f

Greetings sisters in Christ! Praise God for all things and let us be content in our lives! Sometimes people wonder how they can stay clean when a shower is not available or one does not have time.  Showers are a recent invention and it wasn't long ago that sponge baths were a main way people cleaned up.  My Titus 2 offering is a simple, easy way to clean without much fuss or using a lot of water for instances as mentioned.  I call this a bucket bath and can wash myself from face to feet with about a quart of water. I use a collapsible tub like this... (It collapses and is nice and flat for small spaces.) I put in my water, a squirt of witch hazel... (I buy whatever kind is on sale.) And a squirt of natural soap. (I buy what's on sale and found a few of those kind for $1.50 and had coupons on top of that:-) Swish the water around and you are ready to wash.  I use a hand towel for washing and one for drying off.  For those who have never done this,

Greetings to our obedient, keeper of the home, sister saints! Hey, I was in the store today ( I had this post in drafts and just found it so it's actually later than the current date :-) getting a few things before we hit the road again and guess what I saw?  I rounded the corner and what was before me made made my gardening, homesteading old self get really excited.... Look at that!!!!!!! What a beautiful sight!!!!!! A mountain of jars sitting there just waiting to be filled with the golden harvest of a hard worked garden!  Oh, how I loved to preserve the garden bounty that the Lord had blessed us with!!! I had to kill a bit of flesh when we sold the Wisconsin  house because I had about that many canning jars of all sizes and we didn't have room to bring them and making an 18 hour round trip to get them was not worth it.   When I saw this awesome sight, I thought about you sisters, who are blessed to have a garden; working the harvest and putting up th

She Is Like The Merchants' Ships

Greetings sisters in Christ! Praise the Lord for the opportunity to be godly women in this dark world.  Our Father has set our course and shown us who we are to be and what our roles are.  There was a time in my unregenerate past that I hated being a woman but now in Christ I see the beauty of it.   (I drew most of the picture but  brother Jim helped me on some:-) I love the Titus 2 aspect of it, taking care of the home and being in charge of all the duties in it.  We all do it differently; some of us sisters are home all the time tending gardens, animals and preserving, some are  in apartments doing the best they can in a small space, some work outside the home but tend it when they return, some are on the road traveling etc.  It's all glory to God when we are obedient women, in our roles, doing our jobs, however that may be! She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. Proverbs 31:14 I've mentioned before (more than a few times:-
