Keeper of the Tiny Home Helpful Gadgets

Greetings sisters in Christ! I pray your Titus 2 day is going well and that regardless of what your duties are, you are joyfully doing them unto the Lord!  I received a gift today, from brother Jim who was so sweet to find it for me.  I mentioned in a previous post that my little propane cooker is in a unique spot on our shelving unit. (When we bought the van there was a metal utility shelf unit that we kept to use and that's where I have a lot of our foods and my cooker.)  It's located on the bottom shelf about 10" from the floor and it's lower than the cooler I sit on as my seat so I have to curl up, twist sideways and peer down into the cubby hole to cook. It works fine there as that's the only shelf that has enough height to use it, the ones above are not as generous with the headspace.  I've been getting along well except I just recently mentioned that maybe there might be a small light that we could add in there because as it is now, I have to hold the f

Greetings sisters in Christ! I pray your day is going well and that you are striving on in truth! Yesterday we stopped at a park so I could cook lunch and found that it had a nice walking path. We walked around several laps and each time we encountered a squirrel gathering acorns for the winter. I have no clue what sort of tree this is but it's certainly unique. It was nice to see families out walking with their children on such a nice afternoon.  When we were done we headed to our parking spot. And were blessed to partake of our Father's awesome sunset. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. [27] For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.   Galatians 3:26-27 We had some business to do today and along the way we saw these flowers. Keep in mind it's halfway through November, that's crazy to us who have migrated from the arctic north where frost can kill plants in September. As usual, in God's timing, we were in the

Sharing The Gospel

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! I pray you are overcoming your weaknesses by the strength of the Lord.   For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. [8] Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God 2 Timothey 1:7-8 This is to give a shout of praise to those sisters who have the love of God in them and want to share the good news with their neighbors (anyone they come across.)  We travel all over the country and rarely do we see anyone sharing the (true) good news.  Yes, we've encountered unbiblical people doing so and we've tried to correct them but even with those that are claiming the truth, (being called out and separate from the world, seeing through man made religion etc)  are rare to see, if at all, sharing the truth.  Here's a picture of a woman we met at the Super Bowl in Miami last winter.    Her s

White Noise Sound Machine for Van Life

Image
Greetings to our sister saints! This is just a quick post with a helpful hint for those in the van (or RV) life and could also be beneficial for those with children or if you live in a noisy area of town.   Here's a video of a white noise sound machine that we purchased, this isn't to promote any certain brand, it's more so for the idea of a useful tool. This one cost a little over $20 which I thought was a very fair price for the quality.  (I actually got it free from my survey credits :-) This is a great blessing for us while we're on the road preaching the gospel . Have a joyous day sisters. Love, Sister Deb

While I Was Shopping... Another Fruitful Day

Good day sisters in Christ! Praise the Lord for giving us the duties of a godly woman, to take care of those in our lives!  What a blessing to be able to bestow the love of the Lord to those around us, being diligent in every good work that the Lord may not be blasphemed. While I was in the store doing my keeper of the home duties / Proverbs 31 :-) God was using brother Jim to witness the gospel to some people out in the parking lot.  He was sitting in the van working online ministry when a young man knocked on the window and asked about the signs. While he was talking to brother Jim, a car with a husband and wife, were waiting until he left, to come over to talk as well.  Here's the audio. Praise the Lord, the word goes out everywhere, especially in the every day life of a parking lot, which happens a lot. Brother Jim reminded me that I said (before we got here) that maybe we're supposed to be here. Last year in this town, we were driving through an intersection and a man in

Women Reaching Out

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ. I pray you are all doing well during this cold season that seems to be starting.  The cycles of life that come upon us, we must endure through them and press on as some day our rest from the weariness of this world, will be rewarded to us! I just wanted to share a bit about women wanting to reach out and encourage other saints.  We just had a situation that I thought would be a good teaching point and I'm sure the one being referenced would not mind as she seems to have a humble heart and is wise enough to want others to learn as well.   The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.  Psalm 34:18 A woman (married to a professed believer) emailed and greatly encouraged us, thanking us for encouraging her.  (She was very kind to do so and we pray for her situation.)  It wasn't long when she mentioned that her husband preferred her not to have discourse with others and obediently backed off the commu

Greetings sisters! Today is another day to serve the Lord, let us sing praises unto Him for the precious gift set before those who are His.   For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. [2] For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: [3] If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. [4] For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. [5] Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. [6] Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: [7] (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) [8] We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with

Taking a Walk With My Sisters

Image
Greetings sister saints! We are back at the land for a day and then heading out again.  I took a walk before sunset and made a video for you:-) Let us rejoice in the awesome gift our Father has given us. John 3:14-18  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: [15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Brother Jim shares a teaching on how to discern < HERE > 1 Thessalonians 1:2  We give thanks to God always for you all,  making mention of you in our prayers; Love, Sist

Van Dwelling, Tiny House Off Grid Stove

Image
Greetings sisters! We often get questions as to how we do things in our van and tiny off grid house so I thought I'd share this one with you...what I use to cook with.  I may have shared in passing if a previous post but this one will be linked in brother Jim's van dwelling tip page. The picture below is a one burner propane stove or as I call it, a cooker. It uses 3 lb propane cans, of which you can see connected to it. You simply turn the knob and light it with a match or striker and it's ready to go.  In order to save money and not use the propane cans up too fast, I make sure my cooking is minimal and use the 'heat and wait' method as I call it.  For instance, instead of boiling a big pot of water for pasta then cooking it another 12-15 minutes, burning up a lot of propane, I simplify it.  I put the pasta in the pan, cover it with water, cover the pot, bring it to a boil then turn it off and wait.  I do that with stir fry veggies, eggs etc.  Some things I will

From Much to Meager

Image
Good afternoon to our obedient sisters in Christ! We were traveling through a town when we saw something interesting of which brother Jim said I should use for a post here on the sisters blog.  We notice such things because we are among them all the time and they are some people's homes; many are just for vacation but there are those who also live in them full time.  We see some that cost much: Some that are in the middle: And some that are pretty meager: From much to meager. It makes me think of the life of a person coming from the world with the desires to have much (big house, nice cars, the best food, fashionable clothing, big bank accounts, vacations etc)  and being transformed into a new creation by the blood of Christ... then wanting what is meager in this world, just to get by cuz it's all going to burn one day, anyway. I'm sure you sisters think the same way, wanting for less rather than more.  Being appreciative of the home you have, thankful that we are provided
