You're Scaring Them!

Image
Greetings to our faithful sisters! Are you rejoicing in this day that the Lord has made?  We finished up on the streets today, witnessing during a Halloween event in a busy downtown area.  You can see the witnessing videos if you are interested,  HERE . It was great because after preaching a bit, a man walked up and said ' Thank you very much, this is what America needs .'  He needed some help himself but it made both brother Jim and I think about how people try to discourage us in how we do what we do in preaching and sharing the word.  We constantly hear how we should be doing it differently because we're supposedly scaring people away, but we beg to differ because when we hear: You're too loud!   (The seekers of truth are not repelled to come and talk to us.) You're too hard on sin! (The seekers of truth are thanking us for showing them their sin.) You're too bold! (The seekers of truth thank us for doing what we do so they could find us.) You're...

Preparing for Darkness

Image
Good evening faithful sisters! How are you doing today?  We are rejoicing as we have made it through about a week of rain and cold with the reward of sunshine today! Tomorrow we plan to shine the light of the Lord on the streets during the wicked day of Halloween.  You can read brother Jim's article about the evilness of Halloween HERE . We haven't had this opportunity for many years and are looking forward sharing the life giving gospel in hopes of calling out a sheep.  No, we don't look forward to the backlash that might come from it all, through satan's workers, but we don't care, in fact, I'm more concerned about guarding my heart from the sorrow of watching the little ones be led astray.  I have to fight twinges of guilt for doing that to my children before I was born again but I won't let satan drag me around with it anymore. I know some of you feel the same way. Praise God for the most awesome blessing of His Son and the hope o...

Test Me!

Image
Greetings to our faithful, obedient sisters in the Lord! Are you looking to Christ as our redemption draws near?  Are you ready to stand before the Creator of the universe?   Every day I test myself and examine every area of my life to be sure I am walking in spirit and truth.  I constantly find areas that I need to refine as it's a never ending battle while we are in these fleshly bodies, amen? Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?  Romans 6:16 We are instructed in 1 Thessalonians 5 to test or prove all things and I ask that you do that of me and what I say.  I don't want anyone overlooking anything that might be of question or holding off correction or rebuke for fear of hurting my feelings = flesh.  Tear it off, that nasty flesh, and tell me like it is, straight from the word of God.  I'm out on the internet ...

Standing For A Cause

Image
Good evening sisters in Christ! Praise God for knowing our purpose in this life, amen?   Isaiah 43:7  Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. It's all for His glory and while here on this earth, we will do all we are able, to glorify Him. We stand for the cause of Christ, His death, burial and resurrection.  He came for the lost that would repent and follow after Him and in our new life, with the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit, we can obediently follow after Him.  He has gone to make a place for us. Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. [2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:1-3 Someday we will be with him, but until then we must e...

Traveling Through a Tiny Town

Image
Good evening sisters! We have had a rainy travel day and are currently set up for the night, working on a ministry testing of a deceptive religious body.  Yes, it is loving to expose false teachers in hopes they repent and to warn potential sheep from being swept away into their goat farms. We are boldly honest about such things and don't allow false teachers to hide in the dark like snakes to deceive our brothers and sisters.  Go read Jude.  I'm working on a post about being tested myself and hope to have that done tomorrow. As we were traveling today we drove through a town and thought this was interesting. And the buildings painted on the side of that building. We liked the siding on this house. I made a simple dinner of tuna, tomato and hard boiled eggs mixed with a bit of mayo.   As we go through these rainy, cold days we have to remind ourselves not to get in the flesh.  Water all over the van floor, wet...

Rainy Day Thoughts

Image
Greetings sisters! I pray you are redeeming the time as our days are disappearing fast aren't they?  I can't believe it's already fall, heading into a more wintry season with lots of cold rain... ...with freezing rain and ice tonight.  It makes for a great challenge in van life, and we all have our challenges don't we sisters?  But we march on, one day at a time, each one passing behind us and maybe another one tomorrow.   Matthew 6:33-34  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. [34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. We all endure many trials in our walk in Christ.  My trials may never be yours nor yours mine and yet we surely share some of the same...but we rejoice none the less, because of what Christ has done.  Romans 15:13  Now the God of hope fill you wit...

What False Doctrine and Bad Associations Can Do

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Are you strong in the Lord today? We are holding fast and striving on through this dark world and we encourage you on as well!  This morning we went to stand outside a small anabaptist type religious body to hold our gospel signs, preach the gospel and call them out of their sins. It's called the Church of Monett, Missouri and you can see brother Jim's testing of it  HERE  with the sins he called them out of.  It's an interesting story because waaaaayyyy back when I was a babe in Christ, I was out on the internet looking for recipes and came across a blog by a very biblical looking woman who was writing about the things of God and sharing homemaking tips.  I read her blog for a time and then started to see troubling things in her theology (as I was learning to discern) so I stopped looking all the time and would only check back once in a while to see where she stood. (I knew then the false doctrine that was in that religious bo...

Teach The Young Women...To Love Their Husbands

Image
Greetings to our sister saints scattered abroad! Titus 2 instructions for women may seem basic on the outset but are very detailed from within. Titus 2:4-5  That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, [5] To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.  Today I want to focus on the part about loving husbands.  This is just as much a reminder to me as it is instruction or reminder for any of you. Love...is action.  What we saw Jesus do on the cross for us as He did it while we were yet sinners.  If He waited until He loved us in the flesh (remember we were sinning against Him) it would have never happened.  Likewise, we wives, need to follow that example and love our husbands (that's a command) even if they are difficult to live with. God gives us a glimpse into one area of the heart of husbands when we read Colossians... Colossians 3:1...
