Can You Believe It's Almost June??? God's Timing

Image
Greetings to our sisters in Christ! Can you believe it's almost June and therefore we are approaching halfway through the year?!!! Every year we see a deeper meaning to redeeming the time (Ephesians 5:16) because the days certainly are getting evil.  We are thankful for all the witnessing opportunities and we see there are those out there who are seeking truth. There are lots of mockers and haters but we don't let that discourage us and  we are always revitalized when we meet those who have a spiritual spark going inside them. We are back around the land for a few days before we head back out through the midwest heading northward, Lord willing, then from there who knows. There are a few places that we are hoping to be through the summer but we're not sure what will happen and we'll be led by the spirit and God's timing always works out.  Speaking of which you can listen to our latest Married and int the Word called Looking for God's Timing if you haven't...

Bless Those Who Curse You

Image
Greetings to our sisters in the Lord, How awesome is our Father to give us all opportunities to shine His light and truth!  We have been busy on the road and praising God for the witnessing opportunities. I thought I'd share some here as an update so you can be edified. Brother Jim decided that one afternoon we would park at the entrance / exit of a busy parking lot and we would work inside the van, online for a while as it was sprinkling off and on all day.  While we were sitting there I said that I was excited to see who God would have cross our path and stop to talk to us.  It wasn't long and a car slowly crept up to our open door. It was a married couple and the man said he saw the signs, had seen us before, and wanted to stop and talk.  They have a home fellowship in the area, he and brother Jim had a nice long talk about God's Word.  Brother Jim encouraged him to go deeper into God's word as there were areas exposed that they needed to s...

Oh Wretched Woman That I Am

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! I pray you are safe and standing strong in the Lord today.  We have just weathered a wicked storm with downpour and hail but praise God our van has no leaks...brother Jim did a great job :-) We are working our way back to the land for a short time to meet up with a brother in the Lord, to help him do some modifications in his van, then we are back on the road preaching the gospel. Yesterday while we were out holding signs, (you can read about that HERE ) I saw an older man drive by who looked like my earthly dad.  I had a quick pang of sadness for my earthly parents who claim to be Christians (they are life long Lutherans) yet they HATE the things of God and if they don't repent they will perish.  I've written here on the sisters blog about the MANY times I tried to reason with my mom and brother Jim reached out to my dad many times as well...but to no avail as they choose to remain dead because they love their sins.  It's been many y...

Street Witnessing in Branson Missouri...God's Timing

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! I pray you are rejoicing in this day.  Brother Jim and I are joyous as we had a wonderful day of witnessing!  We drove to a place about 2 1/2 hours in the opposite direction than we planned to originally go when we first set out on this leg of our journey and praise God, we see why now. He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 First of all, we decided to go to a very popular parking spot in this tourist town and we saw that there were a small amount of people there compared to what normally is packed.  We like to park there then walk to where we want to street witness and while we're there, we feed the ducks and geese by the water.  When we pulled in, brother Jim took some time to message a brother in the Lord and when they were done we went to feed the birds.  As we were walki...

The Peace of Flying Signs for Christ

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! We have arrived at our destination (a tourist hotspot of the US) and went out on the streets to 'fly signs'.   That term is what the beggars use when they hold signs, but we do it for Christ!  It was a busy intersection and for several hours many people read the signs either ignoring them, nodding and waving in agreement or flipping us off and shaking angry heads. Brother Jim said I should write about this and share how peaceful it is...standing in a dark world, flying signs for Christ, shining the light of Truth.  It's like being in a foreign country because you don't look like anyone else, you don't speak the same things (how can the un-spiritual understand the spiritual?)... But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14 ...and it's simply a quiet, peaceful way to glorify Go...

Free Sisters Are Feminists

Image
Greetings sisters, I pray you are striving to be obedient daughters of the most High!  Brother Jim suggested this post as we know of an unbiblical group of people who look more called out from the world than the average worldly church (Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, Church of God, AOG etc.) in that (some) dress closer to being biblical than most organizations.  They claim a 'kingdom' theology which means they pretty much only follow the words of Jesus and they also follow many false teachers and unscriptural books.  Brother Jim has reached out to them to reason with them in their errors but they wanted nothing to do with it and continued in their sins.  In their group are many women who call themselves ' free sisters '.  (Some say 'free sista's')  They claim 'freedom' from the unbiblical commands and doctrines of man, for women. (Such as amish hoods or mennonite caps, driving buggies, certain color cars etc).  While those are unbiblical traditions o...

I Can't Memorize Scripture Location

Image
Greetings to our sisters in Christ! I hope you are all doing well today and standing strong in the Word.  The Word of God that gives us life and how awesome that He has given it to us.  He came in the flesh and became the Word (John 1), how precious for us to know it. This is just a quick post to encourage those of you who are like me, and have a hard time remembering where to find specific scripture verses in the bible. Thy Word have I hidden in mine heart; that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11 Most of you probably know that when the letters were written and the accounts recorded through the inspiration of God to the men who wrote them down, there were no chapters and verses.  Those were added later as the books were compiled and although they are great reference, you will not go to hell if you can't memorize the locations of specific verses.  As Psalm 119:11 says, hide it in our hearts so we don't sin against God. If all we knew were the precep...

Can Christian Women Work Outside the Home?

Image
Greetings to our sisters in Christ, I hope you are strong in the Lord, persevering through this life!  I've been talking about meek and quiet lately and wanted to equal the balance on being bold in the faith and strong in this life.  Many women think that having a meek and quiet spirit means you are to be weak and helpless but that's not true.  Women can be strong (physically and spiritually), but they need to know how to temper that in the right times and places.  We know what a meek and quiet spirit is (you can read about it  HERE ) but women can also be strong in this life.  For instance there are many women who have to work to support themselves and sometimes their children.  If we look back in the bible we see it's not unusual for women to have to do work.  Ruth, she worked.  Song of Solomon shows the woman was a worker.  In Exodus there were midwives who worked.  Lydia was a business woman. Proverbs 31 woman worked hard. We ...

A Refuge

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Before we left to go on the road preaching the gospel we saw a couple awesome sights I wanted to share with you, in reference to a refuge. First of all, brother Jim looked inside this big kettle that was hanging under the roof of the outside of his shop: This is what he found... Sweet little baby birds, in a safe refuge.  We stood still and it wasn't long before they were fed and the (male or female whichever it was) cleaned the nest and went back out for more food. A few days before we found these birds we had a pretty strong storm pass through the area.  A few times the rain was flying totally horizontal and the trees were whipping around fiercely.  Brother Jim went on the porch to check on something and found this: The poor little thing must have gotten tossed on our porch and he waited right there until the storm passed a while later.  I expanded the video view when I took it so you could see ...
