Ugly Covered Women????

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Praises to those who are striving in all truth, not allowing the world or satan to sway you in any way!   We see the demise of professed believers all around us.  We don't know if people fall back, were never born again or were deceived into false doctrine, all of which is not good:-( Many years ago when I was a babe in Christ, brother Jim was talking to a man that had originally been a German Baptist, then Amish, then Mennonite, the a branch off the Charity group, then another subgroup that split off them...sad story as it seemed at the time we met him (while he was in a sub group of Charity) that he might be seeking truth. I wrote a post about it here on the sisters blog a a year or so ago and I'll paste it here as I want to add something to it and show you the end result of such 'so called' small things.  *********************************************** Many years ago brother Jim stopped at a natural food store and found it was run by a m

Just Another Day

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ, I pray you are all doing well today!  We are doing well, standing strong and pushing on in the strength of the Lord! I wanted to share with you a couple pictures... Of my new aprons... ...and skirt that a sister in the Lord sewed for me.  You can read the post I did about them HERE .  She does great work:-) We were back at the homestead for the day to do some reorganizing and then hit the road again.  The past couple nights it was raining... ...which makes it difficult in the vanlife but we get along, joyously serving the Lord.  We were thankful though, as the rain left and we were blessed with some sunshine and a beautiful sunset. The same sunset a few minutes apart... The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: [17] And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. [18] For I reckon that the sufferings of this present ti

Pt #2 Finding Balance in Emotions and Feelings

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! Yesterday I did a post about finding balance in emotions (you can read that HERE if you like) and decided to expound on it a bit more in audio form today.   Hopefully this encourage you all in your lives.  May the grace of God mature us all (Matthew 5:48) and help us continue to honor and glorify Him in our obedient lives. It's funny that as I uploaded these and type this for you, brother Jim just said ' If that don't get you righteously angry for God's truth, you're dead .'  (In reference to a man that just slandered and falsely accused brother Jim, and then me.)  I said, ' That's exactly what I was trying to get across in my message, rightfully using the emotions as a tool to spur us on.' You might appreciate the pretty red trees in the park where we were while I was making the audios. It's been overcast and drizzly lately but it seems to have passed this afternoon with tomorrow predicted to be sunny so we're

Finding Balance In Emotions

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ, Are you strong in the Lord today?  Have you weathered your battles in the strength of the Lord?  Remember, He is our strength and when we try to do it all in the flesh, that's when we fail.  Amen? Speaking of flesh, our emotions are of the flesh, am I right?  Of course we were given emotions as part of who we are but we must all learn how to master them as they are part of the fallen flesh that is out of control unless we subject ourselves under the power of Christ.   I've been pondering that a lot lately as we battle the wicked works of satan that have been coming as a barrage against us lately, but we are joyous in the Lord, rarely miss a beat and keep marching on.  It makes me stronger and I've been pondering on women's emotions a lot lately.  (Yes, men have them too but I'm only referring to women:-) We all have our strengths and weaknesses when it comes to emotions and we all have them to battle in order to be victorious, amen?  Som

It's Simple

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ! This is just a simple post about how simple it is to be in Christ.  Brother Jim was talking to a brother on the phone the other night about some topics of the gospel that build a good foundation on Christ.  This brother said: "It's simple. Read.  Obey.  Follow." He's correct, it is simple for those who are born from above. (John 3:3)  Hard to do at times but a very simple concept amen? But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent  beguiled  Eve through his subtilty,  so your minds should be corrupted from  the simplicity that is in Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3 I recall the day my mind was made up that I would never set foot in a man made organization ever again  (only months after being born again) and went solely into God's Word.   It was so simple... and still is.   At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed the

Just My Pride

Image
Greetings sisters in Christ, Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.  Proverbs 16:18  The other day we were in our van getting ready to go out on the street witnessing when I looked out the window I saw a man drive a car up to the side of a building.  He jumped out, went into the building  and soon after I saw him helping a woman in a walker, going toward the car, when all of a sudden she fell.  He bent over to help her and I couldn't see them on the other side of the vehicle, so  I told brother Jim and we both got out to help.  Apparently her leg went out from under her and after letting her sit there for a few minutes to make sure she was ready to get up, we helped her up and walked her to the vehicle.  I offered to help her get in the seat but she thanked me and said she could do it.  I asked her if she hurt anything and she said ' Just my pride .'  Brother Jim gave the man a gospel card and off they went. Just my pride.   Pride, that wicked

An Edifying Day

Image
Greetings to our steadfast sister soldiers! We pray you all are strong in the Lord, rejoicing in the day. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.  (Psalm 90:2) There's been a lot going on lately, much of it was of satan, but today was extremely edifying and I thought I'd share it with you in hopes that you will be encouraged by the sovereignty of God.  I posted yesterday about how we were witnessing in the street and at a football game, you can read about that HERE .  While we were at the game, I was wondering who would benefit from all this we went through to do it.  I know I  grew from it, we always do after each witnessing event but I figured there would be someone out there that needed it and that we may never know.  So be it, it's of the Lord and His works, not my business. But...today we found out.  Let me share this other story with you in order to finish this one.

Quick Soup and Dumplings

Image
Greetings sisters! Praise God for whatever provisions we have and for us, the more simple the better:-) I've shared how I like to make my own soup on the road such as THIS POST  about thermos soup.  Well, there are times we are busy and with a day that we're not sure what's going on, I don't always make soup ahead and like to have an assortment of canned soups on hand.  I'm glad I do because late tonight, after witnessing (you can see that HERE ) I was able to whip up soup and dumplings in about 10 minutes. When I find discounted soup, I stock up. I try to get the most natural I can but I don't stress over it. When I'm in an actual house (even if it is tiny:-) I make my breads, biscuits and dumplings from scratch but on the road I use a mix. Yep, there's a few ingredients I wouldn't put in mine but my Father is bigger than anything on this earth and I won't eat anything that I wouldn't serve my Savior. We buy cups of ice for the cooler becau
